As long-winded as I can be, I will do my best to keep this to the brief mentioned in the title.
First off, my birthday show on January 21 went amazingly well. I am thankful to all the collaborators who helped me with the performance and all the awesome friends who came out to support us. Many thanks as well to the Tavern at the End of the World and Tim Carey, my favorite bartender in Boston. Two audio tracks of my new songs, tentatively titled “Stay Warm” and “Falsetto,” are available on the Audio page. Videos for “Drone” and “Six” are available on the Visuals page.
Last night the gentlemen of the Bridges & Squares podcast, Ted and Colin, came to Friendly Square and recorded me playing some songs that will be featured in their third episode. We then made our way to Tavern at the End of the World to see Ladderlegs, schmooze with a couple folks in the “scene” and record the interview/discussion portion of the podcast.
While at the Tavern, Tom Mattos asked me to perform next Thursday with Daniel Harris. I am excited because not only did I miss his last show at the Sock Hop in Lowell but I have wanted to play with him since I saw him at the Tavern last spring. It seems like Thursdays are turning into a good night for me!
I am also getting ready to record my newest material as part of the 2010 RPM Challenge. Songs slated for the recording are “Forget Me Naught,” “Falsetto,” “Stay Warm,” and possibly “Drone.” I also have a few other ideas floating around that might get fleshed out during the recording process.
I have a wide variety of solo appearances this month including a performance on WUML’s Live from the Fallout Shelter, two performances and one workshop at the 119 Gallery’s XFest and the aforementioned gig with Daniel Harris. I will also be joining my friends in They Have This Machine for one or two shows later on in February. Keep yr eyes peeled to my performance calendar for updates.
